Lucky Catch

Sentosa Nature Photography Competition

Perched on the crumbling walls of the Imbiah Battery, an Oriental Magpie-Robin snacks on a froglet. Once an essential component in the defence of Singapore, today the Battery remains a bastion for the wildlife of Sentosa and a reminder of our nation’s rich heritage.

About the photographer

Hi! I am Khoon How, and I am proud to share this achievement with my son You Heng. I started my photography journey about 3 years ago, as I saw many interesting pictures online. After getting into it, I decided to share this interest with my son, bringing him out regularly to enjoy the many sights Singapore offers. I am proud of how far my son has grown and learnt from this hobby. This competition gave us even more time and space to bond and I believe many more people will similarly enjoy this awesome hobby. The art of photography has made us consider the many things we see daily at a deeper level, offering to us insights we would not have realised in our busy lives.
