Family Outing
In 2025, I photographed a family of common palm civets in Singapore, where playful juveniles climbed along a man-made railing while an adult watched over them. After tracking the group, I captured this rare interaction between youngsters of different ages, offering a glimpse into their nocturnal lives. Sadly, it was my last encounter with them, as the parapets they used for shelter were later sealed with metal plates, possibly following resident complaints. As urbanisation continues to reduce Singapore’s green spaces, this image reminds us that greater understanding and tolerance are essential for peaceful coexistence with our wildlife neighbours.

About the photographer
I am an amateur wildlife photographer with a keen interest in documenting the stories of the natural world and showcasing the beauty of nature. Inspired by nature documentaries since I was a kid, I have been photographing wildlife both in Singapore and overseas for the past 6 years. My works aim to evoke a sense of connection and emotion with the viewer by going beyond merely documenting the subject and incorporating unique compositional or storytelling aspects. Themes such as human-wildlife coexistence and spotlighting overlooked species are areas of interest that I have been exploring in recent months.
