Girl With Pearl Helmet
Portrait of a shy female paper nautilus (Argonauta sp.) riding a jellyfish through the currents. Accompanied by a small isopod stowaway, she proudly dons her pearly, translucent “helmet”: A self-crafted egg case to protect her future brood. Shot during a blackwater dive in the Strait of Lembeh, Sulawesi Utara, Indonesia.
