Development
While passing through an urban underpass, I noticed a pair of mynas nesting inside a drainage opening, a space commonly found beneath such structures. The walls had been freshly painted, and the word ‘Development’ appeared directly below the nesting site. This unexpected combination caught my attention and inspired me to create the image. I used a frontal perspective and natural daylight to frame the birds, the opening, and the word together. The photograph reflects how urban birds adapt to changing city environments and make use of whatever spaces are available to survive alongside human development.
