Chasing Rainbows
Photographed at Iguazú Falls from the Argentine side, the image captures a Black Vulture soaring across the immense spray of the falls as sunlight creates a spectrum of colour through the water. I loved the contradiction in the image — a Black Vulture, a bird so often associated with death and darkness, gliding through this vivid landscape of rainbow, mist and water. The near-black silhouette against the wash of colour made the scene feel almost surreal.

About the photographer
Jack Wild is a photographer in quiet pursuit of the extraordinary. Guided by curiosity rather than a checklist, he follows stories wherever they lead—from remote wilderness to the people who call these places home. His work is rooted in patience, observation and a belief that the most powerful images are often the ones that simply ask us to look a little closer.
