Beneath the Light Trail
This small owl was a familiar voice around my home in Dharan, Nepal, its calls echoing through the neighbourhood each evening. One night, I spotted it perched motionless beside a road, seemingly undisturbed by passing vehicles. While photographing it, I noticed an injury to its right eye. Concerned for its safety, I gently moved it away from traffic. Shortly afterwards, the owl regained its strength and flew into the darkness. This unexpected encounter offered a rare glimpse of a familiar yet elusive neighbour, reminding me of the beauty and vulnerability of wildlife living alongside human communities.
