Sky Dance
As the golden evening light bathed the sky, I watched two Black-winged Kites interacting high above the landscape. One bird had been pursuing the other when, for a brief moment, they converged in mid-air. With wings fully spread and feet raised, their paths crossed in a fleeting aerial display before they separated and continued their flight. Lasting only a few seconds, this encounter offered a glimpse into the complex social behaviour of these elegant raptors. Moments like this are easy to miss, reminding us that nature’s most remarkable stories often unfold in an instant. Status: Wild, free-ranging animal photographed in its natural habitat. The subject was not captive, restrained, deceased, or taxidermy.
